Trim Up the Engine

Trimming the engine up means the engine is physically tilted to a higher angle using the hydraulic motor on the boat. Doing this will bring the front of the boat a bit out of the water and improve the performance of the boat.

Most boat experts say that 1500 hours on a boat is considered a lot. But if you are buying a boat with more than 1500 hours, it does not automatically mean that it is not worth buying. The key thing to consider more than the engine hours is its usage and how well it has been maintained.

Pontoon Boats

Most pontoons have a small outboard motor to propel them through the water. The larger the pontoon is, the more powerful this outboard motor. Usually, pontoon boats can be operated with the same unleaded fuel you use in your car.

Most pontoon boats will do just fine in saltwater as long as they are thoroughly washed down afterward. One common cause of corrosion on pontoons is saltwater trapped between trailer bunks and the bottoms of pontoons. Always thoroughly flush this area.

For example, let us take a twenty-foot boat that is eight feet wide. In this example, we would round it down to ten average-sized people.

For standard two-pontoon boats of 18 to 25 feet in length, you can expect a moderate cruising pace of around 18 to 25 mph. These speeds are ideal for relaxed boating with ample time to take in the sights and enjoy the company of your passengers.
